My Saturn Return journey began in February 2023, and damn, did it turn my world upside down. I thought I had an idea of what to expect, but let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I made the bold decision to quit my job, the one I had been at for six years, and leave behind the industry I had been a part of for thirteen. It was a leap of faith, but I knew deep down that I needed to realign with my authentic self. One point for my Saturn Return!
Saturn is known as the “teacher of the zodiac” for a reason. It governs long-term goals, challenges, structure, responsibility, and discipline. Between the ages of 27 and 30, Saturn returns to the exact position it held in the sky when you were born, marking the beginning of a transformative period. These three years can unleash a wave of self-discovery, pushing you to mature into the person you’re likely to become for the next three decades. It’s a time when you might feel dissatisfied in your career, yearn for a change of scenery, or even contemplate leaving a relationship. Whether you fully embrace Saturn’s demands or not, one thing is certain: you’ll feel a strong pull to align with your true self.
The beauty of journeying through your Saturn Return lies in the simplicity of it. It’s an opportunity to confront your patterns head-on and consciously choose the ones that will shape the life of your dreams. I couldn’t wait for this phase of my life, knowing it would shed anything that no longer served me. However, I must admit that the process hasn’t been a walk in the park. I’ve faced deep-rooted fears and limiting beliefs, confronted numerous crossroads, and shed many tears while letting go of the parts of my life that felt safe but held me back. Yet, on the other side of those releases, I’m amazed by how I’ve shifted onto a path that feels so much more aligned. I’ve learned to trust that the Universe is always guiding and nudging each of us toward our highest paths.
So, how am I embracing my Saturn Return, and how can you do the same? Let me share a few practices that have been instrumental in my journey:
- Journaling: This simple yet powerful tool allows you to check in with yourself. Write down your feelings, fears, struggles, gratitudes, and moments of joy. Journaling not only provides a safe space to explore what’s coming up for you, but it also reveals truths that you may not have realized consciously. It gives your mind a chance to catch up with your soul.
- Visualization: I’ve found great power in visualizing my dream life in vivid detail. From what I’m wearing to what I’m eating and how I spend my free time, I imagine it all. But the key is to focus on how it feels to be that version of myself. Where do I feel peace and excitement? By listing the aspects that align with my dream life and recognizing where my current reality falls short, I can make intentional adjustments that make the journey smoother.
- EFT Tapping: This technique has been a game-changer for me. EFT tapping involves tapping on specific points of the body while reciting scripts to release limiting beliefs. It rewires the subconscious mind, creating new pathways in the brain. It’s a powerful way to choose the story you tell yourself. Why not program yourself to believe that you’re the most badass, creative, beautiful, and abundant version of yourself? Because, guess what? You truly are capable of being all that and more. If you’re new to tapping, feel free to search for tutorials on YouTube. I’ll also share my personal scripts with you later!
